Apparently I've out-ed an old friend THE SH**T HIT THE FAN!!
by Terry inabout three or four years ago my former "best friend" who is an active jw started coming by my work to eat lunch with me and chat.. in the course of our conversations we had religious discussions.. i posted on the former jwd about these discussions.
i never mentioned his last name, but, i did use his first name.. i honestly never expected anybody to read those posts because of the curse on apostate websites.
but, that was a bit naive, i suppose.. here is what has happened.. .

) he is then surprised because those self-same contributors call him everything under the sun (i won't repeat the names flung at him on our ultra -refined boards).
he now wants the site more or less 'peer-reviewed' (by analogy with papers to learned/scientific journals having to be vetted by vips).

I stand to be corrected. I am ignorant as I was one of those who never got to college.
The statement I made about Scientists wasn't even my own. It was from a TV clip of a Professor of Science decades ago, except that he used 50%. I did not mean it to be a serious statement. I thought that was obvious. I made it because I do think someone who is protesting too much 'SOUNDS' as if they have some doubts themselves. Quietly confident is a little more reassuring but they are not so entertaining.
I love science and read and watch as much as I can. I enjoy all the posts on this site, whether extreme view or not, and am fascinated by the debates.

50 years ago Jehovah's Witnesses were preaching that they were the spokespersons for God. 90% of what they taught has now been proved untrue.

when i first left jehovah's witnesses (jw's), i was somewhat amused at the sheer amount of anti jw websites out there.
while websites like freeminds.org and jwfacts.com are great, (non hysterical sites that stress fact and presentation over emotional responses), there are at least 5 times as many other sites that act as if you should treat a jw at your door like you would a spreader of the ebola virus.. i don't disagree with the fact that jw's are somewhat dangerous and usually go for the low hanging fruit.

Does the scizophrenic LOVE/HATE/LOVE/HATE God of the Hebrew exist? I do not think so.
Does the "God is love" God described in 1 John 4:8 exist? If God is Love, and Love is God, then yes LOVE definitely exists and undeniably is a powerful force.
